Thanks!

The first Festival Détours is over.

We received films from many different countries. The tourists, locals, wanderers and the kids from the village loved it. And asked for more. Next year!

Documentaries, narratives, abstracts, color and black and white films animated the walls and pleased the crowds.
Finding the right places for the films was an exciting challenge. Some films were shown side by side, some on their own, some on opposite walls. Most of them were accompanied by improvised scores composed by local musicians. Trumpets, violins and guitars provided the dancing images with music.

Many thanks to Tim, Benedictus, John, Marga and Ioannis for that.

The festival wouldn't have been possible without the help of the Atlantis Books team and especially Will, Craig and Chris. Thanks to the Community of Oia, Mr & Mrs Chevalier, Mr & Mrs Martin, Theodora, Madeleine, Libby, Nerea and the people at Toma Unica, Emmanuel, Quinn, Claire, Anna, Sophie, Benoît, Boris, Daniel S, Jodie & Jerome and all the people who helped from wherever they are.

We are extremely grateful to all the filmmakers who sent their films and sometimes shoot a movie just for the occasion.
Many thanks to all and 'rendez vous' next year!

A maze of tiny streets and short movies

For a few hours, a few nights in June, short stories, moving images, words, colors, and black and white shots will adorn the white walls of the Greek village of Oia, in Santorini.

Super 8 projectors will be scattered in different spots throughout the village. The white walls will become natural screens and images will be floating in the streets.

Get a map.

Get lost.

Wander around one of the most beautiful villages in Europe and enjoy short films from both amateur and professional filmmakers worldwide.

You're invited to share your work and join us in June when your entries will be viewed by an international audience, crossing language barriers and thus bringing people together to appreciate the not-so lost art of Super 8 filmmaking.

Send your films.
Come see them.
Enjoy the stunning landscapes of Santorini.
And Happy Super 8 to all !
