It’s every super 8 filmmakers horror when the film gets stuck in the gate and you can watch the image slowly burn from the heat of the projection lamp. As horrific as it is because it’s destroying the film which is usually an original, it’s a visually very fascinating process. The film compiles some extraordinary cases of films burning and melting.

«Ice from the mountain tastes sweeter». Filmed in the Peruvian Andes, this rythmic documentary illuminates the process of making a colorful shaved ice called Shikashika. To make it one family must journey afoot to the glacial apron of a mountain where they cut enormous blocks of ice with axes and bare hands. Shikashika is sold at the steps of a cathedral in the valley far below.

The numbers represent the dates of certain disastrous events that have occurred to her family. The bandages represent the different effects they had on her at different time points, how they made her feel asphyxic, and how desired to be set free from those memories

Nobert, who emigrated to Portugal 10 years ago, originating from the Amazonas region, Ji-Parana, formulate his personal experiences of his migration and his new environment using cinematographic possibilities. Nobert has learnt the art of painting of Portuguese tiles , the « azulejos » with which he earns his living until today. Through Nobert’s painting, he tries to take up contact with his distant family.

There seems to have been a time when they were happy, but at a second point in time the girl has fallen sick, at yet another she is already dead. The film creates an achronological mosaic of time layers, seraphin for a half-life period of memories, and depictions the decay of the medium of remembrance - of both the film strip and the mind.
